Our Story

Hi, I’m Ashley—also whimsically known as The Willow Witch—the formulator, maker, and heart behind Wild Willows Apothecary.

Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to herbs and natural health. From the moment I could read, I was pouring over herbal books and studying ingredient labels, fascinated by what we put on (and into) our bodies. I’ve always lived by the belief:

“If you’re going to put it on your skin, you should be able to put it in your mouth.”

I’ve long been captivated by the beautiful relationship between our bodies and the energy of plants.

As a teenager, I began to feel frustrated. I couldn’t find natural body care products that were both truly clean and actually effective. Even more discouraging—most “natural” options still came packaged in plastic. I didn’t want to wash my hair with chemical-laden shampoo from a plastic bottle or brush my teeth with something I couldn’t pronounce, all wrapped in waste.

So I turned that frustration into curiosity… and then into creation.

I dove deep into research—herbs, formulation, and traditional remedies—and slowly began replacing each of my daily products with safe, clean, homemade alternatives.

After years of trial, error, and refinement (and finally cracking the code on my biggest challenge—shampoo!), Wild Willows Apothecary was born.

Here on my homestead, surrounded by wild willow and countless plant allies, I am constantly inspired. I grow many of the herbs used in my formulations and continue expanding my gardens with the intention of one day growing them all.

I harvest with deep gratitude and respect, following the principles of Honorable Harvest. Each infusion is crafted with care, intention, and reverence for the plants and their natural wisdom.

Every product is thoughtfully made using high-quality, clean ingredients and packaged with the earth in mind—prioritizing plastic-free and eco-conscious materials whenever possible.
